"As of 9:30 p.m. EST......"
Well.... Where can I begin about today... It started out pretty semi-normal.... The old Fazoli's wasn't to busy today and I had to leave quite early, like 1:45ish, to get changed for my interview over at Assurant. That went pretty well. I met with two managers there and was asked some pretty mundane questions. I guess it pays about $8.60 an hour.... Not a whole lot, but it's decent. So the interview went okay and they said they would call in about a week to tell me either way.
Allison & I went to my brother's game tonight at the Sports Plex. After the game I'm standing w/ my mom and Allison while the coach was talking to a couple of the kids. He passed on his way out and said " Hey Adam, I was just telling the kids that I am resigning as teh coach for next year. So the job is yours if you want it. You get first dibs on it, or you can continue on as the assistant coach, just tell Ludlow, ( our AD) either way..." To which I said, "Ok," Shook his hand...and he left.... I turned around and there was silence. I noticed a funny look on my mom's face. She then said, "What just happened?"
"Oh, coach just said that he wasn't going to coach next year..." this is me, thinking the whole time that he meant next year, meaning '07..........then it hit me.....
"Shit............"
He mean this year! He just fucking quit.... lol.......All Allison can do at this moment is laugh..... and the parents just look at me....... "Hey don't look at me!!!!" So, as of 9:30 pm eastern standard time, I am now the head coach of the varsity soccer team at Graham, that is untill I decide not to do it....
I want to do it, but I really think that it would be better for the team and the school if I didn't... I mean, maybe if I had more than a week and a half experience with coaching....perhaps.... Allison made the point that I should do it because I played and I should; however, anyone that has tried to do both knows that is actually quite different. They always said players don't make good coaches. Now I don't believe in that completely, but I think there is some truth to it... .
With that in mind.... I bid you adieu.
